Because you want to win and move on with your career is a very worthwhile goal but it’s unlikely unless you have backing (see above) then you almost certainly won’t get into the top tier festivals. All the rest are just for fun, parties, low-level networking and experience.

You gotta be in it to win it.īut for the independent film maker these Top Tier festivals really aren’t for us. If you aren’t part of the gang you almost certainly won’t get in.
